Free IT courses for immigrants opened in Poltava

9 of November in Poltava started selection of candidates for the free course «Frontend developer: training program for immigrants.” The first group of students began their studies on 23 of November. Studies of other groups will begin no later than the first days of December. The project will be implemented in Poltava and Odessa during the next four months.
This program is implemented under the UNDP “Rapid response to social and economic problems of internally displaced persons in Ukraine” and funded by the Government of Japan. This training program performed by the company Beetroot AB.
It is a chance for immigrants from the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and the Crimean peninsula (IDPs) to become a popular IT-specialist. In total there will be selected 60 people – 30 of them will be trained in Poltava, 30 – in Odessa.
There are no any requirements on the input level of knowledge and age restrictions to take part in this project.
The program consists of the following units:
Frontend Development – HTML, CSS, WordPress;
English lessons – focus on spoken language;
The course on interpersonal communication and self-presentation;
Career Counseling – provide information on effective platforms and ways to find a job as an IT-specialist.
Duration of the program – 140 hours.
Upon completion, participants will be able to become a web developer (Junior Frontend developer). In addition to web-development knowledge students will have the opportunity to talk with potential employers to do an internship in the IT-companies, and the best of them will be recommended as employees.
