“I never thought that Ukrainians could rally so” – demobilized fighter

In Poltava relatives and friends met from battlefront 33 soldiers of the 16th separate infantry battalion. Those were the soldiers who have already served for a year in the area of ATO. The guys returned to civil life, to their home.
It was the square in front of the Poltava Regional State Administration. Citizens of Poltava greeted the bus with ATO soldiers with flowers, flags and applause – some of them were waiting for that meeting for a year. During last year in service they visited different parts of the East. They were in Shchastya, Artemivsk, Crymske. Soldiers of this section are primarily from Poltava, but also there were the citizens of Kharkiv and Sumy.
“More than a year I haven’t been at home. I am full-hearted. The most exciting experience here now, to feel my nearest and dearest people close to me”- said the soldier Anatoliyovych.
“Last January I got to the area of ATO. At first I was in Kotovsk, Odessa region, and then I went to the East. Every day there was very impressive. There were both positive and negative. The most I was impressed by solid men’s friendship, our adamantine fortitude. I never thought that Ukrainians could rally so “- said the demobilized fighter from Kremenchug.
The main thing that all the guys came safe and sound out of the war, says commander Oleg Gromadskiy.
“All alive and well. Well-trained specialists left our battalion. Also the citizens of Kharkiv and Sumy went home today. We performed various tasks in the area of ATO. Our guys neutralized Russian sniper woman and raiding group. “- said Gromadskiy.
Feeling of joy overwhelmed, not only soldiers, but also those who came to meet our heroes.
Svitlana Lukash meets her husband and says that he was in the area of ATO for 1 year and 2 months. They communicated every day.
“He was near Shyrokino, Shchasya, Avdiyivka. He had a furlough twice. He was mobilized in August 2014. If he wasn’t able to talk in the morning we contacted in the evening. We prayed every day. Before mobilization he used to work as a locomotive driver “- said Svetlana.
During the meeting took place the awards presentation of the Regional Council and Regional Administration, solemn speeches and lots of flowers, songs by Igor Godyna of Poltava Philharmony and Honored Artist of Ukraine Olena Bilokon. The battalion commander received a certificate of RSA chairman’s councilor. This wasn’t the first meeting of our soldiers in Poltava. The chairman of Poltava Regional Council Petro Vorona, the chief of staff of Regional State Administration Mykola Bilokon, secretary of City Council Oksana Derkach and other officials took part in this solemn ceremony.
Everyday work activities are ahead of soldiers, but first they have to rest for a month.
