We started the actual process of formation of local government in Poltava region and I’m proud of that – Petro Vorona
On the thirtieth extraordinary session of Regional Council of the sixth convocation deputies voted for the formation of ten united communities in Poltava region. Chairman of the Regional Council Petro Vorona called this session historic. He said that the actual process of formation of local government in the territory of Poltava region has started today.
“I am proud that today I was the speaker at the session. It is really historical, because we have started the actual process of formation of local government on the territory of Poltava region. We made this desision about the election and actually fixed the formation of communities. It is a real step. On 25th of October in Poltava will be new communities with new authorities, with better financing, with the right to own land outside the settlements, they will be able to use all their preferences. The 10 local communities will be those pioneers who have to show the whole region that local government has to live another way with new authorities. Therefore, I am proud that despite such low presence of deputies, there were 67, we voted today. The most important, that we fully adhere to the principle of voluntariness, Regional Council session worked perfectly democratic and liberal, “- said Vorona.
Petro Vorona also commented the situation with the votes on the formation of Semenivka local community. The deputies did not support the appropriate decision.
“I think it’s a personal ambition of individual deputies. The fact that they did not support the decision about local community is a sign that the electoral process has begun, and some are actively involved in it. I cannot find another explanation. Due to the fact that a group of people of one village council declared its disinclination to unite, the whole district lost the chance. It should not be like that, “- said the Chairman of the Regional Council.
